Some children and adults need a little more help during their time in education. It may be that they have a physical or mental disability that means certain tasks are harder for them to complete or it may be a learning difficulty that they have such as dyslexia.
Places of education such as schools, colleges, and universities all have a duty to their students to look after their individual needs and work with them to accomplish the tasks in hand to the best of their ability.
Some special needs are quite rare so it may be that the educational setting does not know what they need to do in order to help them. If this is the case then the setting needs to find out more about the condition to allow them to assist the pupil as and when needed and look out for signs or symptoms that they should be aware of.
